4/2/10 16:12 Lindenhurst was alerted to a motorcycle accident at Plain St. & S. Wellwood Ave. Aviation was requested for a medivac but later cancelled, 1-6-7 transported a male with multiple fractures to Good Sam and requested the trauma room.

4/3/10 00:34 North Amityville was requested forthwith for a pedestrian struck at Rt. 110 & Hatcher Ct. M/A was requested from Amityville for A.L.S. 1-1-11 transported a victim to Good Sam with multi trauma.

4/3/10 18:06 North Babylon handled a single car accident with car fire on the Southern State Pwky east of Deer Park Ave. Firefighters from Engine 1-8-8 knocked down the car fire as the crew of 1-8-17 packaged a victim. 1-8-17 requested the trauma room at Good Sam for a 18 y/o male with a femur fracture.

4/4/10 22:00 Amityville requested S.C.P.D. Aviation for a female who fell down a flight of stairs with a compound leg fracture. A.F.D. set up a landing zone at the Amityville High School and provided A.L.S. care at the scene. The victim was airlifted to Stony Brook.

4/6/10 Alarm totals for the March storm have been posted in the Alarm Totals Section. Also the Working Faces section has been linked to our Facebook page where all "working faces" photos will be posted.

4/11/10 20:57 Deer Park firefighters were originally toned out for a automatic fire alarm @ 30 Jefryn Blvd West. Upon arrival of Chief 1-4-31 a working fire was requested. Firefighters extinguished a small fire in a mixed occupancy commercial building, the sprinklers had activated containing the fire. M/A was requested from Brentwood for R.I.T. S.C.P.D. Arson was also requested to the scene.

4/12/10 16:20 East Farmingdale responded to a pedestrian struck by a auto at Herzel Blvd & 6Th. Ave. S.C.P.D. Aviation was requested for a medivac, the victim suffered multi - trauma. The victim was airlifted to Stony Brook.

4/14/10 14:33 Wyandanch Ambulance responded to a house on Bedford Street for a male who was shot in the chest with a bow & arrow. The victim was transported to Good Sam.

4/19/10 07:20 Amityville was alerted for a Hazardous Materials Incident at South Oaks, 400 Sunrise Highway. Industrial laundry detergent was poured down a drain creating a strong odor that overcame several people in the building. The Town of Babylon Disaster Plan was activated sending ambulances from all Town Departments to the scene, and Ambulances from Dix Hills, Massapequa, & West Islip to stand by in quarters. A total of 10 victims were transported for respiratory difficulty to area hospitals.

4/19/10 14:57 North Amityville handled a auto accident with entrapment in front of 870 County Line Rd. M/A was requested from Amityville for a ambulance to the scene. A total of 3 victims were transported to the hospital.

4/20/10 North Babylon was toned out for a working fire at 16 Claremont Ave. Firefighters placed a line into service to knock down a exterior fire on the exposure #4 side of the dwelling, there was no extension into the dwelling. M/A was requested from West Babylon for R.I.T.

4/22/10 14:43 North Babylon again responded to a working fire @ 640 Empire Ave. Firefighters stretched multiple lines to extinguish a fire in a 1 sty private dwelling. M/A was requested from West Babylon for R.I.T. & Wyandanch for a engine to the scene. One firefighter was transported to Good Sam with minor injuries.

4/22/10 17:58 Wyandanch Fire & Ambulance responded to 115 Wyandanch Ave. "Tri Star Commercial Cleaning" for a male with his hand stuck in a machine. Wyandanch Fire used extrication equipment to remove the victim's hand. The victim was airlifted to Stony Brook Hospital.

4/23/10 18:44 Wyandanch Fire & Ambulance responded to a pedestrian struck by a train at N. 18Th. St. & Merrit Ave. The victim was D.O.A.

4/28/10 00:03 North Amityville responded to a victim of a shooting on Columbus Blvd. M/A was requested from North Lindenhurst for A.L.S. to the scene.

4/28/10 18:22 Wyandanch firefighters battled a working fire in a vacant private dwelling @ 40 Henry St.
